What's Actually New in Collingswood This Summer: A Local's Weekend Map

What's Actually New in Collingswood This Summer: A Local's Weekend Map

  • July 23, 2026

If you've lived in Collingswood, Haddon Township, or Oaklyn for more than a season, you already know the rhythm. Saturday morning at the market. A BYOB reservation somewhere on Haddon Avenue. Maybe a Clover Market Sunday once in the spring. What's worth paying attention to in summer 2026 is that the map is quietly stretching. The weekend still starts along the PATCO line, but the most interesting food news this year is landing off Haddon Avenue, and one of the biggest names in the pipeline isn't opening in Collingswood proper at all.

Here's what's changed, what hasn't, and where to point out-of-town family when they visit in August.

Saturdays Still Belong to the Market, But Watch the Calendar

The Collingswood Farmers Market runs Saturdays, 8am to noon, from May through Thanksgiving, along the PATCO High-Speedline between Collings and Irvin Avenues. That's not new. What is worth knowing is scale and continuity. The market has run since May 2000, starting with 12 farms and growing into a Saturday routine for residents across the surrounding towns. Many of the original 2000-season farmers still show up every week.

Two practical notes for the season:

  • EBT works here. Stop at the Market Information Tent to swipe an EBT card for wooden Market tokens good on produce, meats, dairy, baked goods, and food-producing seeds or plants.
  • The 2026 vendor list is still filling in. Market organizers noted the 2026 vendor roster was being finalized and asked patrons to check the vendor directory as it updated. If a favorite farm isn't on the schedule you saw in April, the calendar view on the market site is where to look.

If you only have one Sunday to spare this fall, mark September 20. The Clover Market returns to downtown Collingswood for two 2026 dates — Sunday April 26 and Sunday September 20, both 10 to 4, featuring roughly 100 curated handmade and vintage vendors plus food trucks and live music. The footprint uses the N. Atlantic Ave lot (the Farmers Market lot), the Thriven Design lot, and Irvin Ave. Same block as your Saturday routine, entirely different shopping.

The BYOB Core on Haddon Avenue

Collingswood's dining reputation is built on one structural fact most weekend-guide posts skip: it's a dry town, which is why the restaurant row runs so heavily on BYO. That's the reason your dinner bill looks the way it does, and it's the reason the town keeps attracting chef-owned concepts instead of chain operators.

A quick read on the anchors, all on or near Haddon Avenue:

Restaurant Address What it is
Hearthside 801 Haddon Ave Wood-fired grill and oven, counter seating facing the hearths, bold meats and fish plus finessed pastas and crudos from chef/co-owner Dominic Piperno
June BYOB 690 Haddon Ave Rustic French from classically trained Richard Cusack: braised rabbit-leg stew, steelhead trout in a fig leaf, the Trio de Canard
Sabrina's Café 714 Haddon Ave Brunch institution known for stuffed challah French toast and huevos rancheros, with a dinner menu locals underuse
Sagami 37 W. Crescent Blvd South Jersey's most devoted sushi following; regulars line up at lunch, and dinner fills the lot
Villa Barone Haddon Ave Long-running Italian; participates in Restaurant Week every January

If you haven't been to Hearthside in a while, the counter seats are still the move. Watching the cooks stoke and bank the fires amounts to a dinner and a show.

The Pipeline Is Landing Off Haddon

Here's the shift worth flagging. The two most-talked-about openings in the Collingswood orbit right now are not on Haddon Avenue.

Pizzeria Cusumano — Collingswood, spring 2026. Sal Cusumano's project, five years in the making, is a high-end shop built around an imported oven serving nothing but pizza — an aspirational, three-generations-in-the-making concept. This is exactly the kind of owner-operator single-focus opening the BYOB structure tends to attract.

Angelo's Pizzeria — West Collingswood Heights, 2026. This one's technically in Haddon Township, but everyone will call it Collingswood. 42Freeway first reported the South Jersey plans in July 2025, with the location taking over the former Dinic's Roast Pork & Beef property on the Black Horse Pike, within eyesight of the Audubon Shopping Center Acme. The build has taken longer than expected for a specific reason: owner Danny sourced brand-new bakery equipment from France, and manufacturing and shipping it took many months. Instagram footage in early February 2026 showed staff forklifting the equipment off a truck at the Conshohocken bakery he's built as the supply hub for the restaurant. The South Philly original picked up a Michelin Guide spot since the South Jersey plans were announced, so the eventual opening on the Black Horse Pike is going to draw a line.

The reason this matters for anyone who already lives here: for the last decade, if you wanted to know what was opening in Collingswood, you looked at Haddon Avenue. The 2026 pipeline is on the Black Horse Pike and on side streets. Weekend traffic patterns will follow.

If You Have a Sunday Free

Collingswood's Saturday-morning gravity is strong enough that people forget the rest of the county has its own weekend rhythm. Two options worth putting on the calendar:

  • Haddonfield Sunday market. Every Sunday, April through November, at Station and Atlantic Avenue — a community-focused market with farmers, food vendors, and local artisans.
  • Haddon Township Farmers Market at Harwan Park. Thursdays in two seasonal sessions — June 26 to July 24 and September 11 to October 2, held at Harwan Park, 32 S. Black Horse Pike. Midweek shopping, same corridor as the incoming Angelo's site.

These aren't substitutes for the Collingswood market. They're what to add once the Saturday routine is set.

One Thing to Circle in January

The dining calendar has a shoulder-season anchor that locals sometimes miss the first year they live here. Collingswood Restaurant Week returns in 2026 from January 12 to 18, with special menus and seasonal dishes at restaurants throughout downtown. Confirmed 2026 participants included June BYOB, Michael Coastal Italian Grille, Sapori Trattoria, Villa Barone, Albertino's, Il Fiore, Paloma, Bistro di Marino, Haddon Culinary, and Maria's Bread Sandwiches, with four-course prix fixe menus generally running $45–$60. Set a reminder in December.

The Small Businesses Behind the Restaurants

Two updates from the neighborhood ecosystem worth knowing, because they explain some of the character of the block.

  • Independent bookseller Julie Beddingfield's Haddonfield shop is adding Inkwheels, a mobile component that lets her meet customers at pop-up events. Expect to see it at Clover Market and around the farmers market lot.
  • Rick Tamburo, who has run historic restoration work across South Jersey and Philadelphia since 1985, is selling the business in retirement to Sean O'Donnell of Collingswood, who is restoring the historic Knight Park caretaker's house. If you walk past Knight Park this summer and see scaffolding, that's what you're looking at.

Putting the Weekend Together

Take a normal August Saturday. Coffee at the market between 8 and 10, produce home by 10:30, lunch on Haddon, dinner reservation somewhere BYOB. Nothing about that sequence is new. What's new in 2026 is what's around it: a second Clover Market date in September, a from-scratch pizza concept opening downtown, and a Michelin-listed operator finishing a South Jersey outpost on the Black Horse Pike. The town's food story isn't getting reinvented. It's getting broader, in a direction that rewards residents who already know where the good streets are.

If you're a Collingswood-area homeowner thinking through a move, a rental strategy, or a longer-term real estate question, the team at Philly Home Advisors works across Camden County and the Philadelphia region with residential and investment specialists on the same roof.
